Frequently Asked Questions

How can I schedule my appointment?
All you need to reserve your appointment is a phone and a credit or debit card.  You may choose to use another form of payment (checks accepted upon second visit) once the services have been rendered.  Please refer to the cancellation policy below.

What is the cancellation policy, exactly?
Please allow at least 24 to 48 hours advanced notice to reschedule or cancel. Cancellations in less than 24 hours are subject to a $35 cancellation fee, and within 4 hours and “no shows” will be responsible for the full value of the scheduled appointment.  The charges will go on the credit card you gave when scheduling your appointment. These rules also apply to Gift Certificates.

What can I expect for my first appointment?
To stay about 30 minutes past your scheduled amount of massage time. To reduce wait time, please download, print and fill out these two forms to bring along with you: Office Policy and Client Intake Form.

Do you take walk-ins?
No, please call to schedule your appointment.

When are your hours of operation?
All massages are booked in advance, so please call to schedule your appointment. Remember, walk-ins are not acceptable. Availability listed here has the potential to change or shift:

Do I need to arrive early?
Please arrive at least 5 minutes early to use the restrooms at the end of the hall, and ensure adequate time for us to discuss any changes in your health or medical status.

What if I'm running late?
Uh oh! Please give a courtesy call or text as soon as you know. Late arrivals are not granted extensions, and will receive the remainder of their scheduled session and full session price will be due.

What can I expect for my first professional massage?

When you arrive for your first appointment, you will be required to fill out a Client Intake Form and sign the Office Policy. After discussing your health history, current need for massage, and any painful areas of concern we will create a personalized session tailored just for your body.  Then you will be given a few minutes of privacy and peace to undress to your level of comfort before laying on the massage table.  (You may undress completely or leave your underwear on if that helps you to completely relax). You will be draped in sheets and a blanket for the duration of the session. Take a few breaths to settle in and Natalie will knock before entering the room again.  Once the massage begins feel free to openly communicate if you would like to change the pressure, temperature, music, or have a drink of water. This is your time to relax, so be comfortable and content!

Why do I need to fill out the Client Intake Form?
The more Natalie knows of your medical history, the better she can adjust the techniques used during your massage. Please answer each question to the best of your knowledge. If you are unsure how to answer a question, just ask.  Take responsibility to update your form when necessary (e.g. recent surgeries, new painful areas of concern, etc). Any information you provide is extremely private and confidential.

Is there ever a bad time to get a massage?
Actually, yes. If you are suffering from sunburn, severe burns, poison ivy, or any other form of widespread skin rash/irritation, please refrain from booking a session or call to reschedule your appointment within 24 to 48 hours. Also, if you've suffered from an injury within the past 36-72 hours, it may be best to practice RICE (Rest Ice Compression Elevation) or seek medical help. Lastly, if you are currently ill or are even 'starting to feel better today' after an extended illness, just wait a little longer before receiving a massage (massage promotes healthy immune function by improving lymphatic circulation but this may make an ill person feel worse). 

What kind of payment do you accept?
I will not take checks for your FIRST visit. I've been burned one too many times. Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express via the Square reader. Please be prepared to show a valid Driver's License. Returned checks are subject to a $25 fee. There are no refunds once services have been rendered.

Do you sell Gift Certificates?
Absolutely! Giving the gift of Professional Massage is a wonderful way to show your spouse, friend, or co-worker that you care about their wellbeing.  Gift Certificates are available in any amount of time you choose, although 60 minutes is most common. Once purchased, Gift Certificates are non-refundable and may be transferred to another person for use.  For your convenience, they're available for purchase online and then you may choose a PDF copy to be emailed to you/them or have the physical gift certificate mailed directly to you. Can you help me avoid the doctor?
Natalie is a licensed massage therapist in the state of South Carolina.  She can not diagnose medical diseases or disorders, prescribe medications, or perform manipulations or adjustments of the human skeletal structure. She will be happy to refer you to those who are licensed to do so. With that said, massage is great at boosting the immune system's ability to function.

Do you accept tips?
Although not expected, gratuities are gratefully accepted at your discretion and are customarily 10% to 20%.

Do you perform erotic massage?
No. Never. If this is what you seek, go elsewhere. Blissful Massage Therapy LLC with Natalie Dingledine provides only non-sensual, professional massage. Any act of sexual misconduct or harassment by the client will immediately terminate the session, and full payment will be due. BMT has the right to refuse clients from booking or rescheduling.
